Scope of supply
Simply put, scope of supply is about controlling risk. It means how the customers want to divide the work between itself and Vestas during the construction and installation of the wind power plant. It depends on what suits the specific project and the market which it is operating in, and how the customer want to spread the risk – are the customer happy for one company to deal with the risk, or would he or she prefer to spread it between several companies?
Choosing Vestas brings the advantage of our vast knowledge of logistics, including the most efficient and safe way to transport and install our turbines. To this end, we offer three different types of scope of supply:
- Supply only: we simply supply the turbines to you, according to one of these three options:
- Supply only - we supply the turbines, and you take care of everything else from transportation from the factory to the installation and commissioning of the turbines.
- Supply and supervision – as well as supplying the turbines, we supervise their installation on site.
- Supply and commission – we provide manpower to help get the turbines up and running. We may also provide transportation depending on your requirements.
- Supply and installation: In addition to the above, we hire the cranes, provide the manpower, install the turbines, and we may provide transportation.
- Engineering turnkey project: we do everything - all the installation plus balance of the plant, such as internal road construction, crane pads, cabling, substations, static compensators, site buildings, earthing, SCADA, and fibre cables between the turbines.
